Merging Baghdad
Graphic Design, Typography
"Merging Baghdad" is an Arabic type based stamps collection. The design concept addresses some interesting facts about the city of Baghdad by merging the Arabic and Sumerian languages. This collection highlights that Baghdad used to have the biggest zoo in the Middle East before the 2003 US invasion and that it used to be surrounded by four main gates which were built during the Abbasid Caliphate. Each Stamp has the meaning of the symbol on it and the Arabic Typography to represent that meaning. The colors are inspired by art pieces from the Iraqi culture. The project was created by Illustrator, and the layout by InDesign.
